It was a morn to celebrate as the grounds of Loreto House School Kolkata, India resounded with the pure
and gentle voices of the students as they raised a voice to promote sustainability the most unique manner.
The amalgamation of creative ideas of fourteen subjects created the perfect blend for our Annual Day
Exhibition- Striving Together to Promote Sustainability. The exhibition was held on the 17th and 18th of
November. It was honored by the ardent nature conservers and soldiers of the environment, Miss Diti
Mukherjee and Mrs.Banani Kakkar.
All subjects upheld the beauty of Mother Earth and the need for protecting it in a remarkable way through models and charts. Art showcased Mother Earth while Home Science quenched our hunger through organic drinks and salads.
Biology set its foot in by organizing an energetic quiz on their model, vermin-compost and tomato battery. Mathematics showcased seismographs and carbon footprints through their models. Physics took the field with their models Smart City, solar cooker and earthquake alarm. Chemistry joined in by showcasing gobar gas usage, organic cosmetics while Computer Science made an exceptional website. Economics and Commerce combined to showcase water harvesting and waste management. English set foot in it with its marvelous models on the poems “The Heart of the Tree” and “The Way through the Woods”. History showcased the Ajanta Caves and Industrial Revolution. Geography showcased models on Pillars and components of Sustainability along with a Pilot Project of Rural Indian Village projecting the Eco Tourism.
The Vernacular department contributed to sustainability through poems, stories and models.
The ingenious ideas of the students of Classes VI to IX were illustrated through impressive models and
charts leading to a successful exhibition. It helped us to understand the importance of living sustainably,
which fortunately bore fruitful results for the propitious ones
