When we received the invitation to find ways of celebrating the season of creation, we discussed and came up with different suggestions on how we can celebrate the season of creation. One of our significant activities was making some gabions along the riverbed that passes through our compound because part of the land was getting eroded due to the swelling of the river. This gave us a perfect opportunity to connect ourselves with Mother Earth and appreciate God’s creation which we have been we know that we have the duty to be stewards and not her master. In his 2020 Season of Creation reflection, Pope Francis says, “The Jubilee is also a time to listen to the land, to hear the voice of creation and return to our rightful place in the natural created order, remembering that we are part of this interconnected web of life, not its masters.” We are happy to be part of this journey of taking care of the environment and it is our commitment to continue to take good care of God’s creation.
